A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Chainfire is a first-person shooter where you design your own ammunition. Assemble bullets from various modules and control them with the node-based programming system. Attach optics and sensors to turn your weapon into a smartgun. Or keep it simple and rely on your reflexes to win, the choice is yours.

Currently there is a testing area and one playable level (grayboxed), so it's more of a sandbox than a game. The plan for the full game would be a campaign where you unlock equipment as you complete missions, similar to armored core.

Please let me know your thoughts and whether you found the interface comprehensible, I can't tell since I made the interface for myself.

I uploaded a zip file with examples of the bullets I've made, to use this extract it to %APPDATA%\Chainfire\saves\[your save]\bullets (Windows) or ~/.local/share/Chainfire/saves/[your save]/bullets (Linux)

Requirements:

Developed on an RTX 2070 and an i5 9600k 3.7Ghz. I get FPS of 90 to 150 at 1440p. In-depth graphics settings are available.

Tested on a GTX 970 and i5 3570k 3.4GHz on Linux. FPS was 40 to 60 at 1080p. This is the lowest spec I would recommend, but you could certainly go lower by reducing graphics settings.

Controls:

Gamepad is supported for gameplay and menus, but mouse and keyboard is strongly recommended. The bullet editor requires the mouse to use. A keybinding menu is available.
